Born and bred in Durham, Norman played for both Durham and Whitley in the 1950's. He started skating at the Riverside and soon took up ice hockey in his teens.
Norman was the first player to score a goal at Hillheads Rink, followed soon after with the 2nd, at Whitley Bay in 1956 against Streatham Redskins.
Norman was very proud to have represented both Durham and Whitley Bay and often talked to his friends and family about his time playing, especially the away trips around the UK, including many to Scotland.
Norman passed away Friday 30th April at Durham hospital.
